MELD-Na
Sodium-adjusted MELD, the score used to rank liver transplant waiting lists.
When to use it. Estimating 90-day mortality in chronic liver disease and prioritising for transplantation.

Limits of this score. Derived and validated in chronic liver disease — it does not describe acute liver failure. Transplant programmes also grant exception points for conditions such as hepatocellular carcinoma that MELD does not capture, so a listing decision is never the raw score alone.

Where this is written from. This site is written from Indian clinical practice.
