Albumin-Corrected Calcium
Adjusts total calcium for a low albumin, so hypocalcaemia is not over-called.
When to use it. Interpreting a total calcium when the albumin is abnormal — most inpatients, and almost everyone who is acutely unwell.

Limits of this score. A correction, not a measurement. It performs poorly in critical illness and in CKD; when the answer changes management, measure ionised calcium instead. Acid–base status shifts ionised calcium independently of albumin, and this formula does not see that at all.
